Is it possible to see a talent for healing in the birth chart?

The Astrology of the Healer, Helper and Carer – Part I

If you were hoping that there was one single planetary signature that jumps out at an astrologer and says “energy healer”, “physician” or “psychotherapist”, I’m afraid I will have to disappoint you. There are as many different indications and relevant planetary combinations as there are different healing and helping professions. And, of course, there is always the question about what is meant by the term ‘healing’ in the first place. However, a birth chart can inform you about the predispositions that someone brings to the table that can be developed and used in a healing profession. A closer look at the birth chart can also provide insights into what might (consciously or unconsciously) motivate you to help people. Especially possible hidden agendas might be worth analyzing at even if you are already an established practitioner.

So, in this two-part article I’d like to give you an overview of the traditional astrological indicators and explain a few of the typical signatures that can be found in the charts of people with a strong inclination towards the healing and helping professions. As you will see, everything comes at a price and this is true for potential healing gifts as well. Some of these predispositions might not show until later in life as those people need to first go through a healing crisis themselves before they realize their calling.
